Hastelloy South Africa launches high-performance Inconel® alloy solutions to help upgrade South African industry
11/07/2025

Hastelloy South Africa, the world's leading manufacturer of high-temperature alloys, has announced the expansion of its Inconel® range of high-performance alloys in the South African market to meet the urgent demand for materials for extreme environments in the local energy, chemical and mining sectors. The product line upgrade is designed to provide South African customers with advanced material solutions that are more resistant to high temperatures and corrosion, which will help keep industrial equipment running longer and reduce maintenance costs.

Inconel® Alloys: Meeting the Challenges of South Africa's Severe Industries

South Africa's mining, thermal power generation and chemical industries have long faced the wear and tear of equipment in high-temperature, highly corrosive environments. Hastelloy South Africa has introduced star products such as Inconel 625, Inconel 718 and Inconel X-750, which have the following core advantages. Excellent high temperature resistance:

- Excellent high-temperature resistance: can maintain strength in environments above 700°C, suitable for gas turbine blades and power station boiler components;

- Corrosion protection: resisting hydrogen sulfide, salt water and acidic media, optimizing the life of mining pumps and valves, offshore oil platform equipment;

- Localized inventory: shorten the delivery cycle and ensure the stability of supply chain for South African customers.

Technology empowerment, promote South Africa's Industry 4.0

Hastelloy South Africa synchronously launched the “Inconel® Technology Partner Program”, in conjunction with South Africa's local engineering enterprises and research institutions, to provide:

- Material selection training: free seminars for South African engineers, covering alloy welding and processing technology;

- Customized development: Specialized high-temperature resistant tubing designed for solar thermal power generation in South Africa (e.g. Redstone project);

- Sustainability: 100% recyclable alloys to support South Africa's carbon reduction targets.

Daniel van Niekerk, Managing Director of Hastelloy South Africa, said: "South African industry is moving towards high value-added manufacturing, and the strength and reliability of Inconel® alloys will be the key to breaking through technical bottlenecks for our customers. We are committed to being a long-term partner in the growth of South African industry through localized services."
