Stainless Steel Round Bars: The Forging Story of High-End Manufacturing's "Precision Backbone"
04/12/2025

Production starts with strict raw material selection. Steel billets must undergo spectral analysis to verify composition and ultrasonic flaw detection to check for defects; unqualified ones are directly scrapped. Qualified billets undergo gradient heating in intelligent furnaces at 1150℃-1250℃, with temperature error controlled within ±3℃, laying the foundation for subsequent shaping.

Heated billets are shaped through "progressive rolling". Twelve sets of intelligent rolls dynamically adjust parameters, reducing the diameter tolerance to 0.03 mm. Subsequent processes include high-pressure water descaling and finish rolling, resulting in round bars with a surface roughness of Ra0.8μm and stable diameter deviation of 0.02 mm.

Straightening and heat treatment are key to performance assurance: fully automatic straightening machines control the straightness error within 0.3 mm per meter, while "solution treatment" enables 316L round bars to achieve a tensile strength exceeding 520 MPa. Finished products must pass the "final inspection": combined testing via laser diameter measurement, hardness testing and other equipment. The full-process information of each round bar is traceable via an exclusive QR code.

"We have invested 200 million yuan in equipment upgrading to support high-end industries with precision manufacturing," said the enterprise's person in charge. These "small round bars" are contributing to the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry.
